David & Janelle Rutt, Owners

David and Janelle started Pro Auto Body in March of 1993 hoping to draw in customers by handing out business cards and doughnuts. They never thought that they would later be running several successful businesses within the community of Orange, Virginia. Starting and growing a business was no small task, especially while raising three children, but they were able to accomplish it with a lot of hard work and dedication.

When the roof collapsed on the original building in a blizzard in 2009, David showed an incredible ability to pick up the pieces and use the setback as a reason for reconstructing and growing the business. They were able to have the business back up and operational within a week with the help of their employees, friends and local community. A brand new building was built in the following year and a half and the business name was changed to Pro Collision Center. They have expanded as well with Pro Towing, Pro Wash, a satellite DMV location, and a used car dealership under the original name Pro Auto Body.

Their children were very young in the early days of Pro Auto Body and now as adults, all three have become a vital part of the business. Roger, the oldest, is an excellent auto repair technician and also backs David writing estimates and assisting customers. Eric has been painting vehicles for ten years and now manages the paint department and does incredible work. Shauna, the youngest, participates in the administrative side of the business.

From the beginning, a lifetime warranty on all repairs has been David’s promise. They have maintained this reputation to all of their customers with a job well done. David’s ability to work with people, along with his desire to give back to the community, has also led him to hire employees through a work release program from the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
